Thanks Heidi. Many of us are so "busy" that we forget what really matters, even if it is an elephant in the room. Be sure to say thanks to the elephant for dropping by.

this is a great post, janet - nice job! this ties into a point-counterpoint post jess & i are working on for our joint blog (http://www.heidianneandjess.com/) on whether or not truth matters that will be posted next friday.

i love that you stated that most of the people are doing a good job most of the time. unfortunately we are fast becoming a society of takers not producers - regardless of job title or place in society - and this makes it less & less likely that your contributions will be recognized by those around you. it's a truly sad state of affairs.

i personally believe that people are more likely to rise above & out perform expectations if you praise and encourage. as we fall further & further into despair as a society, it becomess more and more likely that we will fail to recognize the good around us and/or to be grateful for anything that we have.

i honestly believe that without and attitude of gratitude, we are incapable of recognizing that others are doing things worth noticing. without recognizing that others are doing things of note, we forget that we are as well...

again, great post. i'll be sharing it now....

This is some good insight into what some would consider counter intuitive. It is also a great example of how even a big company could differentiate themselves, giving themselves a sustained competitive advantage.
